Here are a few pictures we took on a walk in the mountains a couple of Sundays ago.  There aren't too many fall colors this year, because it's been too dry, but there's still plenty of beautiful scenery!  I love living near the mountains again.  We also got a new entertainment center, and it came with a free matching dvd holder.  It's a HUGE upgrade from the faded hand-me-down coffee table that our tv has had to sit on for the past year or so.

Happy Birthday Lizzy!

Update

It’s been an interesting week for us. On Thursday I received a very unexpected bonus at work as a reward for all the training I’ve been doing for our new employees. This was a great blessing because it came at a time when I was really needing some extra cash! Funny how things always seem to work out like that. Then on Friday something even more unexpected happened…I got a promotion. This wasn’t something I had applied for recently, but an opening came up and I got a phone call congratulating me. I’m a little nervous because it will be a big change from what I have been doing for the last couple of years, which will definitely yank me out of my comfort zone. But hopefully it will be a good learning and growing experience. What’s most exciting about it is that I will get to work out of our satellite office in Sandy until January, which will save me 5-6 hours of driving every week (and of course that gas money adds up). Also, for those who don’t know, Brett recently cut all ties with his employer and officially started his own business: Integrated Sports Performance. We were very blessed because in the first week he already had several clients and a contract with a high school, which adds up to more income than he’d had all summer at the other place. The blessings continue, because yesterday he landed a 6 month contract with a group of swimmers at the high school. This isn’t to say everything is perfect or easy, because starting your own business is difficult, expensive, and scary. The last 3 months have been almost nothing like I expected them to be when we decided to move back to Utah, but it just goes to show that someone else has a plan for our lives, and even when our own plans don’t work out just as we thought they would, there are always unexpected blessings around the corner!

Paint, paint, and MORE paint!

So lately I feel like I've been in one of those dreams where all you do is run and run, but you never quite get anywhere!

We have been over to the new house about every night this week and thus far have put TWO ( yes two...) lovely coats of paint on the laundry room, kitchen, dining room, living room, stairway, hallway, and office! We have also done the accent wall in the living room. Tomorrow will be another big paint day and we'll probably start on the master bedroom and bath since that is the next biggest job. I'll just be happy to get onto another color of paint!

Aubrey is doing better the last couple of days (yes!) and has been going down for naps easier, but still waking up quite a bit in the night. Steve and I are both pretty exhausted between her new sleep habits, our paint fume-filled hobby, work, keeping the house going, callings, tutus, etc...

I wrote a while back about being in charge of a RS enrichment date night for the ward. That's coming up this next weekend so I've been scrambling around doing things for that. Anyone want to help me paint 12 ceramic piggy banks?? : )

Also I currently have 5 tutu orders in the works from my first week on Etsy. Bad timing I know, but exciting none the less. I also had a woman email me today about buying some of my tutus wholesale for her children's boutique in Noe Valley San Francisco, CA. That would be exciting too!

So to sum it all up, my house is covered in tulle, my hair is flecked with paint, and my to-do list needs a crane to lift it....but we're doing all right!

Baby Makes Three

So I have finally put some items for sale on my Etsy store. My sister-in-law Emily said she had a few people wanting to order so I thought I better set something up! My little models ( my niece Kate and Aubrey) look cute up there though.  It's nothing much but it was fun to see that 2 users added me to their favorites before I was even done posting last night! Although that may be about the only activity I get...there are a lot of stores out there. Anyway, just for fun...check it out.

BIG NEWS!

Ha! Nope, I ain't got nothing. But I can give you a little Red for your enjoyment...

Dear Red,
I noticed that Brother Wright is teaching a celestial marriage class this semester. I don't really want to be in the class as much as I want to be "in the class" if you know what I mean. How can I make sure I do so?
Celestial Aspirations

Dear Celestial,
Hm...yes, I think I know exactly what you mean and here is what I have to say: if you really want to be 'living' the class rather than just sitting in you need to get the ball rolling with some top notch dates. On a completely unrelated note, I am totally free this weekend...
If you want it here it is,
Red

Dear Red,
In a battle between Batman and Brigham Young who would stand victorious?
Comic-ly Curious

Dear CC,
First of all I can't think of any possible reason these two would ever come head to head but, nevertheless, if such an Armageddous event occurred then I'm pretty sure even Batman's mystical cape and super stealthy moves do not stand a chance against the power of God.
Holy Apostasy Batman,
Red

where'd summer go?

So, Kari has accused me of abandoning this blog for my own. Funny enough, I think I've just pretty much been lazy with both these past few months. You guys just have way more exciting stuff going on... I'm so excited for all the babies :) Anyway, to prove my loyalty, I'm posting these pictures here first... :)

A few weeks ago we did make it to another Brett Dennen show. He was actually opening for John Mayer. Colbie Caillat also opened, which was a nice surprise since I didn't even know until we got there. We took a quick weekend trip to Houston for the concert. It turned out to be a lot of fun. It kind of gave me the concert fever again though -- so now I have already planned a couple more shows... The next being Weezer in September. I've always wanted to see them live so I am super excited.
Here's a picture of us waiting for the show. My favorite part was that it was at an outside amphitheatre. It was a little warm, but a pretty night to enjoy a show.

Anyway, other than that... Doug and I have been super addicted to the Olympics these past few weeks. I'm totally bummed that those are over now. We also joined a gym - 24 hour Fitness (so we can work out around the clock... HA - yeah, right.) We've been several times now and I'm really enjoying it. It's actually my first time to commit to a gym membership and we actually paid for 2 years, so I'm trying to stay motivated. I'd really like to get in better shape and lose a few of the pounds that I've put on in the last few months. Never hurts to tone up a bit... We took these awful pictures so we can check out the "before" and "after" shots. If results are good... maybe you'll be privledged enough to see those. I'd say your chances are one in a million.

By the way... have any of you seen Stephanie lately? She is looking freaking hot.

Here's some pictures of us at dinner the other night when we got together with our local ladies... (Careful, my white legs may just blind you)

Anyway, I miss everyone -- Our April reunion already feels like it was FOREVER ago!! Can't wait until our next get-together!
